Alyssa I met years back when I was in a band called Ludavico. Both her and Jordan came to one of our early gigs and since then we have done a few shoots for fun. Aly is a makeup artist and is a bundle of fun.

I met Scott sometime throughout my life as a drummer, being the drummer for bands such as I Am Villain, who we may have even shared the stage with at some point. He's been touring around America recently.

I've known Jordan for several years, and she was a subject back in the first few months I began photography as well as a few times over the years. We've been housemates for the last year or so, so she jumped in when I was testing out some new gear.

Jodie is a portrait subject of mine from last year and is currently studying International Hotel & Tourism Management. I'd had such a long break from portraits (not since November) so it was great to shoot again.

I met Nikki a few years ago but only recently got back in touch with her. She's a lot of fun to be around and always has a smile on her face. Nikki is studying graphic design and is also into photography.

Tom is a bass player I've known for a few years through music. He plays in the band The Royales of whom I've photographed as well. He's also an electrical engineer.

I've known Hannah since I joined the West End Camera Club and was fortunate enough to go running around in Bali with this year. She is a lover of art!

I've shot two music videos for Michael Beatson and his band, A Direst Desire in the last few years, the second of which I produced entirely. He works up in Gladstone but comes back down to Brisbane periodically.

Michael is a singer, guitarist and songwriter and has a great visual eye as well, shooting some stunning footage of Ios, Greece recently with his drone setup.

Genevieve is one of my best friends from high school and is lots of fun to be around. She's been living in Melbourne for the last few years, was a hairdresser in the past and has a beautiful singing voice.

It was great to finally take her portrait for the project.

Allyce is a lighting consultant and has done interior design in the past. Earl, Allyce's one year old Alexandrine parakeet came along to have his portrait taken. He was relatively well behaved while we listened to 90's hit music.

Dan is an architect working in Teneriffe, Brisbane and is currently studying for his masters in project management. Dan was our subject at the West End Camera Club Flash Lighting Workshop I taught back in November last year. He also is a singer songwriter, though he says he's been focusing mainly on his keen interest in fitness for a while.

I met Alex through the band The Royales, who I've shot with in the past. The more I talk to her, the more creative she becomes. Alex has dabbled in singing and dance for musical theatre, has done portrait photography and more, and is she is moving to Manhattan, New York for a few months at the end of the year.

I had quite a long break away from pursuing portraiture with only a small number occurring in the last one to two years. Even though I wasn't pursuing it, I found that whenever I made a new portrait of someone, I couldn't help but fall in love with the process again.

A recent change gave me the space I needed at home to set up a small studio space and my desire to shoot has returned, stronger than ever. Not only that, I have learnt so much, so I am excited to begin this project.
