Leica Day

I’m now shooting on a Leica M Type 240 with a Summarit 35mm f/2.5 lens. The Fujifilm X100s has been such an inspiring camera for me and upgrading to a modern digital Leica has really cemented what photography is to me these days. It’s about taking pictures with an enjoyable camera, and the Leica M lives up to expectations and exceeds them.

The images have huge dynamic range and lots of detail but feel perfectly familiar using VSCO’s Ilford HP5+ processing.

New Year Musings

I’ve been rather quiet on the photography front lately, mainly due to time off and relaxing for the last few weeks, though I’m dying to get back on the streets and take some more photographs.

When you’re not taking pictures, it’s easy to start thinking about gear. I’ve been fascinated with the Leica M Edition 60. All the mystery of shooting on film with the facility of digital files at the end of the day.

I think I need to get back to shooting before I get carried away…

The Richness Of Colour

Publishing to this black and white blog this year has been immensely satisfying and I don’t think I’ll have any reason to stop for the foreseeable future, but throughout the process of shooting entirely in black and white, you lose awareness of the richness of colour that the photographs could have.

This is a hint of the colour of the places I’ve been this year with personal and street photography.
